Vendor Default Price - VDP
The basic thought of VDP is the assumption that also exceptional GM weapons are different in quality. Each weapon has two main abilities, which are durability and a damage-rating. To get now a rating for your weapon, you can use the skill Item Identification on it. Only problem will be, that you have to be Grandmaster ID to get the correct result, otherwise ID-ing the same weapon again and again, will give you each time another result. Now it seems that Player Vendors are Grandmaster Identification by nature. If you drop a weapon in their bagpack without setting a price, the vendor will set up one according to his ID-ed result. This result is called VDP (Vendor-Default-Price).
